First Day of School

In September Princess #1 started 1st grade and Princess #2 started preschool

New House= New Chores

School is starting and we are in a new house so I want to revamp the chores for the girls...

I started a "responsibilites" check list for the girls... this means these are things that they are need to do everyday without any compensation.  I also started a chores chart that are specific tasks they receive a quarter for if done on time and with a good attitude.  (if I figure out how to add a document I will add them later) but here are the girls folding their laundry (5yrs and 4yrs)

End of The Summer Treat

Prince Charming and I figured that after all the craziness from the summer the girls needed a little treat.  So we took them to a local carnival for some fun one day...

Visit from The Marine and the Decorator

After all the dust settled from our moved we enjoyed a 2 week visit from Prince Charming's brother, The Marine and his family. Obviously the Marine is in the millitary and they are currently stationed in the frozen tundra of CANADA. The trip was a "redesigned" trip because Prince Charming's parents were supposed to travel to Canada to see the Marine's family but Prince Charming's mom ended up being hospitalized (severe food posioning and gall bladder surgery) so the airlines was able to put the money towards the Marine's coming here instead, which meant we got to enjoy them as well.

Missing in Action

I am sure all of you have been wondering where the heck I am...it has almost been six months since I last posted anything. Well, let me show you in pictures....

In May we went from this...

to this.... In June I did this... while Prince Charming did this in Glennallen, Alaska In July I directed Operation Space VBS...
While Prince Charming did this...In August we ended up in this rental...
While we looking into building this...
Ok that, about sums up the summer... obviously there were things that happened in between and I will try to post those as the fall goes on, but for now you are caught up on our crazy life.

Missing Link: Build-a-Bear

(wondering what missing link is? Click here for explanation)

My sister Morning Dawn got the girls a build-a-bear certificate for Christmas. So we all went together to stuff the bears. Kimberly got a peguin and Princess #2 got a moose. Each of them got a Tinker Bell outfit for their bear and some shoes and a purse. They had a great time and it is still their preferred stuffed animal to sleep with!

MISSING LINK: Princess #2 4th Birthday

( wondering what missing link is? Click here for explanation)
In January Princess #2 turned 4. We had a small family party on her actual birthday and we then had a Tinker Bell party at church. She was/is big into fairies right now with the new Tinker Bell movie. I always struggle with her birthday because it falls so close to Christmas and I am worn out with all the partying and family functions. Her birthday is also the day before my mother's and a week before the Pharmacist's and 10 days before the Snuggler's (although he is 1/2 way across the Continent). This year was no different, we did try and separate out Grandma and Aunt Pharmacist's birthday. A lot of her friend's and their families were sick with the stomach bug and it was shortly there after our family made our own downward spiral into sickness. Now all that being said, Princess #2 seems no worse for the wear and she loved her party and everything that she brought home (all she wanted for the party was a violin with strings) so I guess I should just stop stressing and deal with life!

Missing Link Posts

After Christmas things got really busy around here and we went through (and still going through) a long spell of illness. During this week of spring break I will try and catch up on some of those missing posts that I meant to do. You will see them tagged with "Missing Link"

Congratulations to the Pastor and Pharmacist

My brother and sister-in-law just bought their first home. We were able to go up and see it last weekend before they began to remodeling work. It is an older home and needs some serious updating. They will actually be moving in during May but first they are tearing out the kitchen and bathroom to update. It is a great home that has alot of potential! Congratulations Uncle Pastor and Aunt Pharamist!

Happy Easter

We had a busy Easter this year due to Princess #3's birthday falling on Easter Thursday. We did not attend Good Friday service, but instead we had our own abbreviated Seder dinner which I found on the web at Women for Faith and Family. This worked well for our family and the girls really seemed to enjoy it. When asked later, the thing they liked the best was dipping the green herb (parsley) in the salt water and eating it. They also liked drinking all the grape juice blessings. Prince Charming and I really liked this new tradition we started too, I don't think we will always do it on Good Friday but I enjoyed researching the meal and preparing all the little items for each section of the meal. We celebrated Easter Sunday at my parents home with Prince Charming's parents, my brother's family and some friends of theirs. We of course had a "potluck" type of meal with everyone bringing something to add to my parent's ham and scalloped potatoes... I brought some desserts but the Andes Candies cheesecake was a big hit... very yummy. We had a great time and it was nice to just relax after a long weekend.

Happy 1st Birthday Princess #1

Princess #1 celebrated her 1st birthday on Thursday. Unfortantely she also celebrated with cutting 5 teeth, runny nose, fever, and double ear infections. We basically had a small family dinner with cake and ice cream following. We filled her up with meds and tried our best to keep her happy while we had a "celebration." She did love the frosting on the cake but most everything else about the party Princess #1 & Princess #2 did for her.

What happens in one year

Are we done partying yet Mom? I don't feel good!
Well this frosting isn't so bad, guess I could hang in there for this.

Yeap, I'm done! Let my sisters take over for me!

Movies I Enjoy

Princess #1 recently found the movie The Sound of Music and started watching it. I am loving the fact that she likes this kind of movies 'cause this is one of my favorite kind of movies too. The possiblities are endless, Annie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Heidi, Shirley Temple Movies, The King and I, The Music Man, Newsies (my all time favorite), Oliver Twist, The Parent Trap...

ok maybe I am getting carried away. I am just thrilled at the fact that movie watching maybe fun again.

Bad Mommy Day

I have to confess that I have not done my job as a mommie today. I am very excitied about being the VBS director for our church this year. I love the VBS program we are doing. (Operation Space by Answers in Genesis.) I was only going to spend a few hours during the morning to try and figure out a workable schedule, but that turned into a 6 hour thing and then I wanted to email my assistant director some space facts and that turned into a couple of hours... so yes, my children have been running free willy all over the house today. I guess I had better get off this computer and check out the damage. Yes, this was not a day gone as planned, and yes I know that I should have stopped and payed more attentions to the kids... so this is my apology. I feel bad... tomorrow is a new day, and it will be a better day!

Our little classroom

This post is mainly for my sister-in-law in the frozen north who would someday like to homeschool her kids, but you can all peek into our little classroom...

The Northern Family
(there is a new little princess snuggled in Mommy's jacket)

Our classroom: there is another desk that didn't make this picture. On the left, under the pad of paper you will see bins that holds all of our supplies. To right are two desks that holds all of our books and writing utensils. In between the two desks is a bookshelf that houses all of our revelent books to the current theme.

Our daily circle time mainly revolves around the "days of the week" chart on the left, the "calendar" in the middle and the "weather chart" on the right. We then go over a bible lesson or memory verse and then read a few books. I also write a letter to Princess #2 every school day that lets her know what we will be doing that day. She can't read but she has fun when I read it to her during circle time
Then it is to the table to do our activities/worksheets.

Around KJ's Table: September 5th- September 11th

Let's start out with a moment to remember It was also the first day of school this week: And back to prep-ahead meals since all my cook...
