A Visit from the West Coast
Over the summer we were honored to be able to enjoy some time with our West Coast counterparts otherwise known as Prince Charming's brother and family. Since they live across the country we do not get to see them often so time spent with them is precious. I just love how our kiddos just "pick up" right where they left over playing with each other even though it can be as many as two years between visits.

Winter Doings
Winter is a quiet, indoor kinda season. But we still managed to get to see some things.
Playing our new favorite game, Ticket to Ride. If you haven't played it... go get it. There is also an app as well I believe.
One of my favorite times of the year...State of the Union. All of my organizational/social hormones go into hyperdrive and I get to "dump" it all into my husband. What is the State of the Union you ask? At the beginning of each year we take a weekend away and reflect on our lives. We talk about goals, we talk about finances, we talk about kids, we talk about marriage and we plan for the year ahead. We get on the same page. We regroup. We plan. I LOVE IT!!
We also go to some really cool places and sightsee
This year was Portland, ME
Prince Charming... King of the World
This family could not be in Portland without going to Cabelas!

Happy Birthday Prince Charming
Happy 8th Birthday Princess #2
My middle child, born only 15 months after the first was a ball of energy from day one. She was born 10 days early. Born 2 days after my grandmother's unexpected funeral (I was in labor during the funeral but that is another story). Born into one of the most difficult times of my mommyhood. Born between our brothers weddings, which meant bridal showers, trips across the country, and wedding prep. Born while my Prince Charming was busy helping his parents build their dream home which was like a second job to him. Born while grandparents were busy dealing with going from "child" to "head-of-the-family" and busy building homes. Born to a totally spent mommy. Now all that to say, that this the family dynamic this little princess was born into. She spent the first three months of her life crying from painful colic and inability to nurse well. But, today though she is my most helpful, sensitive and fun-loving child. She loves people. She is full of energy, fiercely competitive, full of life and full of grace. She is my child who forgives everyone, loves everyone, and is willing to do anything for anyone. So I guess what I thought was a tough start in life was really just early proving ground for her strength and grace. I love this tough little girl!
(Born a day earlier than her Grandma they always get to celebrate together)
