Lazy Days of Summer... ya right!?!?!

Update: I noticed these thumbnail pictures seemed a bit blurry and not a crisp as the originals... if you click on the photos they appear in a photo window that is much clearer.  Just in case you wanna see my awesome new photos!! :)-

Ok first and formost you will notice a dramatic change in the number and quality of pictures so you should know that this is why... Prince Charming spoiled me just a little this month with this:

My very first Digital SLR
Fresh out of the box, no changes this is what I get...

After a little bit of play I can get these...

(I did let Prince Charming play with the camera just a little!!)

Did you notice some boys in the pictures and a girl missing?? No I did not find an exchange program for children, it is Camp Pinnacle week in our house and we had a variety of children in and out of the house. Princess #2 went to day camp with two for her friends and  Princess #1 went to her first week at overnight camp with 4 of her friends... we had the special priviledge of going to visit on Talent Show night:

Princess #1 really happy to see us

Next we have swim lessons for Princess #3

Where she went down the big slide all by herself

and swam in the "deep" end

We also got to visit our favorite farm stand which has recovered from the devestating flood from just about a year ago today.  Last year at the end of August, you can see their produce all along the side of the road...

Here they are this year...

With yummy new potatoes for my favorite, a pot of salt potatoes

and corn on the cob

The three princesses at Barbers... starting them young!

The three Princesses also got to have a craft day with Grandma

And occasionally we did spend a girlie day at home...

The rest of July is spent at VBS.. but I think that deserves a post of it's own!

June Bugs, No Wait... Bluebirds!!

Ok I forgot one picture in the last post about May...

Prince Charming and I at a marriage conference, located at the beautiful Camp Pinnacle

Ok now for more about June, which seemed to FLY by, probably because we were away more than at home!!  To kick of the month Princess #1 and I took a trip to PA attend the Witness Festival together. A group of us (13 in total) ladies and girls went down to the free concert for the weekend.  The weekend was so crazy it was actually funny... first we tried to get around NYC traffic by taking a "short cut" which was actually under construction and detoured which made our 4-5 hour trip more like a 7-8 hour trip!!  We got up the next morning super duper early to get the best lawn seats... it was first come first serve seating.  What we didn't think about was open field in the blazing sun for ummm, 12 hours??  Ok maybe not really that long but it sure did seem like it!!

Here is Princess #1 and I waiting for the first concert

Here are all her friends waiting for the long anticiapted Britt Nicole concert

One of the reasons why we moms choice this festival was because the girls all love the Christian artist Britt Nicole, and she was playing at this venue and did I mention it was for free!! We also got to here great bands like Reilly, Jamie Grace, Big Daddy Weave, City Harmonic, and Jeremy Camp!!

The long awaited Britt Nicole concert

The best part was that all the performers did signings right after the concert.  Here is Britt Nicole signing Princess #1 tee-shirt for her.  Princess #1 also made a picture for Britt that she was able to give to her.

So the rest of the weekend was filled with an overnight hospital stay (longer story), an overheated van, getting lost in Amish country and almost hitting a cow, missing seeing my hubby for a week by 5 minutes, forgetting carseats and having to drive 2 hours out of the way for them.  But really, would I do it again... in a heartbeat!  The Lord was amazing through it all and his blessing way out numbered the pitfalls.

I spent the rest of June going on fieldtrips and final days of school for the girls

Princess #1's 3rd grade class on a field trip

And celebrating Father's Day at the lake fishing (with no luck)...

One of the special treats we had during the month was some residents bluebirds right outside our living room window in our bird box. We have named them Bonny and Billy...

Their family has seemed to outgrow our small little birdhouse and they have moved onto bigger and better things.  It was a thrill to watch them grow up though!

The final week of June was spent living at Prince Charming's parent's home because Prince Charming was replacing the insulation in our home.  I don't have any photos of this time because my camera bit the dust... but that is another story for next month!  Keep checking back...

May Brings Flowers or Vegetables in this House

May was a busy month here in the household.  But really is starts with April... where we celebrated Princess #3's 4th bithday.  See how proud she is!!

On each of the kids 4th birthday we buy them a real bible because it is when they start going to a children's church and sunday school class at church where they "read" their bibles.  My pray is that she would be as interested and intrigued by this book her whole life as much as she is in this picture.

I got to have lunch with my favorite goddaughter

Introduced my two littlest princesses to "Starkbucks" kids hot chocolate... a new obsession!!

Planted a window herb garden that is now not so healthy due to my lack of watering... time to start again... hopefully pictures of a healthly herb garden will follow

Our church had a baptism service where three special ladies dedicated their lives to live Christ-like...

but what captured my attention more (and this photo does not due it any justice,) is the little ladies who ran right up front to watch what was happening in the "pool".  It reminds me of our children's baby dedication service where we asked the church to be an example of Christ for our children... this is what it looks like in real life....

My helper for Saturday morning pancakes

6th annual trip to Yankee Candle with the ladies

Bi-lateral ear tubes for Princess #2 and Princess #3

And finally, the garden!! My mother's day gift from the girls and Prince Charming was the opportunity to try my hand at vegetable gardening.  This is what is looked like in May...

And this is what is looks like today (end of July)

We have green peppers

Carrots

Lettece

Beets

Tomatoes

Cukes

Beans...which don't seem to doing so well

Peas

Blueberries (which are our neighbors and they have abundantly shared)

We also have radishes and spinach but they have already come and gone. I forgot to photograph the pumpkin.  Yay!! My black thumb only seems to be on the pretty flowers variety of growing things and not the things I use in my kitchen.  We have enjoyed some yummy salads from our lettece and radishes.  I am waiting for the tomatoes to come to make spaghetti sauce... more updates to come!!

Around KJ's Table: September 5th- September 11th

Let's start out with a moment to remember It was also the first day of school this week: And back to prep-ahead meals since all my cook...
