Today was a quiet day as compared to the following days. It seems I need it, things were getting very hectic for me! I have been going on bunny trails looking at homeschooling blogs... some of them have made me green with envy. I just have to keep in mind that Princess #2 is only in Pre-K and Pre-Pre-K at that. Prince Charming and I were talking last night about Princess #1 and homeschool. Currently she is scheduled to start public school Kindergarten in the fall and technically she still has one more year until she is required to start school. She is definitely ready to start, I just am worried about her going to this school at 4 years old! We are going to try the public school and see how it goes for her. I just wish I knew then what I know now about homeschooling! Oh well, God has directed our steps and we are just trying to follow them.
Ahh... see bunny trails again, back to our day... we stayed home today except for swim lessons. Princess #1 is a little less timid in the water, she jumped off the diving board and went down the slide all on her own. She still is very timid about putting her head under water though. I think we may have to do another round of level I swim lessons for her, just until she is comfortable. Anyway, this afternoon was filled with picking up the house and then we had surprise dinner guests, MomMom and PopPop. Which was nice because we actually haven't seen them in almost two weeks.
So tonight is just websurfing and now it is off to bed. Tomorrow we have another busy day of picnics, swimming, and fireworks.
Have a great 4th everyone! (sorry no pics today, I left my camera at church)
It's a Girl!
Just a quick update... heard from Prince Charming's brother today, he and his wife are expecting in November and they just found out they are having a girl! Their little Princess is due to be here in late November in the cold frontiers of the Northern Hemisphere! It is very exciting for them as they have two boys already... Congratulations, eh!
4th of July Summer School
Whew! I am new to homeschooling and it is a lot of prep work for something that seems to fly by. It is interesting to watch my two girls and their different learning styles. Princess #1 loves to learn but she is not precise in her learning, she wants it quick and easy. Princess #2, who is 3 and still young, loves hands-on learning. She does not get the concept of "worksheets" yet. My biggest challenge is finding something for her "to do" that keeps her occupied long enough to have individual learning time with Princess #1. It is tough with two young ones to teach at the same time. We did it though. I do feel like our schedule is a little "off" though, I still need to tweek it I think. Princess #3 is waking up from her nap in the middle of school and wants to eat of course! Also, I want to get some individual storytime in with the girls after school but I also need time to pick up. I had put in a movie so I could pick up, but the problem with that is that they tend to fall asleep. Which would be ok but it makes them a little bit whiney during dinner because they are getting tired eariler. I would like for the naps to fall in the 2pm range and not the 12pm range which seems to be happening... oh well, like I said, tweeking... anyway here are some pictures from our 4th of July day...

Our flag savenger hunt (I hid flags all over the house for the girls to find)

Picking Berries
Today was another busy day. We went to the library in the morning and got books to start our 4th of July week and then off to swim lessons again. Princess #1 still didn't let go of the wall today and she keep asking to get out because her teeth wouldn't stop moving! But she did jump off the diving board today! We then went and did our grocery shopping today, of which I went WAY over budget and had to return things later in the evening (which by the way did you know that any food returned has to be thrown away and cannot be reshelved according the health codes?) but, anyway... we then went over to Grandma and Grandpa's new deck and picked berries... some cute photos of the girls with berry juice all over their faces.

Swimming Lessons & Date with Daddy
Ahhh... the fun things we get to do as parents of preschoolers. Yesterday was a busy day for our Family. It started off with Princess #2 bounding out of her room yelling "Daddy I go with you today!" Which was referring to the "date" that Prince Charming had planned just for her. So off they go to breakfast at a local diner with great food and prices. and then to a local "town park" to play on the playgrounds there. I stayed home with the two other girls and poked around on the computer checking out some other homeschool materials a lady at church mentioned to us. Then it was off to Princess #1's very first swimming lesson. She was very timid and did not like the really COLD pool, she will still not let go of the wall even though the water is well below her face. But she did stay for the whole class and went back again, so we will see how it goes the rest of the week. After swim lessons, Princess #1 & Princess #3 and I went in to meet up with the other half of the family at the park, which let me tell you is WAY more than a "town park". I drove passed mancured lawns, hanging gardens, duck ponds, and miles of walking/biking trails to get to the playground picnic area. (which by the way is next to the fitness center and indoor pool/waterpark) The girls had a great time playing on the HUGE playground while I ran and did some errands. Then they whole family went out and bought some new shoes for Prince Charming and a shoe-lacing book for Princess #1. By the time we all got home it was time for PJ's and bed... Princess #2 especially was exhaused...It was a great day though! Amazing how fast they grow up, I wish I could just freeze this moment in time.
