Faithful Friend

I was three years old when one of my mom's friend brought us a LARGE chalkboard for Christmas.  I am sure she had no clue how treasured this gift would still be more than 30 years later.  When I was a girl it hung as the centerpiece of our kitchen for as long as I can remember.  I studied my spelling words on it, we wrote notes to each other on it, it held our chores for the week, we studied soccer plays on it, we played hangman and drew funny pictures on it with our friends and most importantly it was our financial IOU reminders. (you know when you borrowed $5 from mom, she wrote in the corner like this S-M $5) When Prince Charming and I bought our first home my parents took the old chalkboard down from their wall and brought over to our new abode so that it could make may memories for us.  Now it sits as the centerpiece in our kitchen as it should.  My kids practice their spelling words on it, draw funny pictures with their friends, get their weekly chores on it, we write little notes to each other on it and soon I am sure I will be teaching/coaching them something that will require an illustration and writing little IOU's on it when I don't have cash to cover something at the moment.  Here is a little peek at a few of firsts this faithful family friend as seen...

Yup that is me over 30 years ago writing my name for the first time

Here is Princess #3 this week writing her name on the very same chalkboard for the first time.

Princess #1 was a little more elusive and I found this one day after writing a note to Prince Charming and I realized she could finally write her name (yup same chalkboard)

Princess #2 is her own woman and decided on the tradional pen and paper to write her name on her own for the first time, but I thought it would be nice to include it anyway!  :)-

Told you so

I warned everyone out there that we were not out of the woods for snow... all it took was my in-laws going away!  So this post is for those on the west coast (and you know who you are)... TOLD YOU SO!!

Welcome Home

We are so excitied to welcome a new family into our church this week.  They joined our church family as the Youth Pastor/Director.  They have 3 boys (which our church is in shortage of) ages 10, 8 and 6.  It is thrilling to see our church growing and moving forward after much healing!

(Maine seems to be a good hiring ground for us)

Bunny Hunting

Prince Charming took two of the girls hunting Monday morning.  They had a great time and he said they hiked over a mile with him.  Prince Charming brought home one rabbit for the freezer....

Healed from Cancer

One of my very good friends was healed from cancer last week and is living victoriously free in the arms of Jesus Christ.  It was 13 short months from the time of diagnosis and her healing.  Last night those left behind celebrated her healing and her life....

Enjoy your healing and your forever with Jesus...

Happy 35th Birthday Prince Charming!

Last week we celebrated Prince Charming''s 35th birthday quietly (per his request) with just the 5 of us.  We enjoyed his favorite meal of homemade pizza and rum cake. Prince Charming and I also went on a double date with my brother and sister--in-law for a cello concert on Saturday but I forgot my camera... so you will have to use your imagination on that one.

Happy Valetine's Day

We had a busy but great Valentine's Day this year.  A few days before we had a pinkalicious fest while creating our Valentine's Day cards.

In the past I have bought them but this year Family Fun inspired me to make my own. (and of course as hard as I tried I could not convince them to do the same one!)  I also was determined to make something from Pinterest... so here are our efforts!

On Valentine's Day we had the priviledge of watching our niece, Pearl.  And Grandma and Grandpa stopped by for a visit as well.  Grandma made paper flowers with each of the girls...

I made a yummy dinner of spilt pea soup (Grandma's request) chicken nuggets and french fries (girls request) and heart cookies.  The soup was the best I ever made... thanks MomMom!!

Here is a look at the girls this Valentine's Day...

Princess #1... 8 yrs
Princess #2.... 7 yrs

 Princess #3.... almost 4 yrs

 Pearl... 16 months

The Loot from Valentine's
